Pequannock
Township Public Library Launches
New Downloadable
Audio Book Service – OverDrive
The Pequannock
Township Public Library is making downloadable audio books available to
their patrons through a new online digital library service.
OverDrive, the national leader in downloadable media for libraries will
be available 24/7 to patrons on their home computers. All you
need is your library card number and PIN. (Your PIN number is the last
4 digits of your telephone number.) Download titles from the library’s
online audio book collection and listen to them on your home PC
computer (not MAC), transfer them to compatible WMA/MP3 (not iPod)
devices, and in some cases, burn to a CD.
You will find this
service, sponsored by MAIN, Morris Information Network and the
Highlands Regional Library Cooperative, at www.listennjnw.org
With hundreds of
exceptional titles spanning all popular genres, the Library’s new
online downloadable audio book collection is sure to have something for
everyone. The collection includes a wide variety of materials
from classics and children’s titles to popular books from best selling
authors such as Nora Roberts, Dean Koontz and Robin Cook. There are
also a wide variety of non-fiction titles to choose from including
popular business titles, self-help titles and many more.
Patrons visiting
the site will find that getting started is as easy as shopping
online. The site offers a number of convenient ways to browse,
search and select titles from the downloadable collection. Just
download the OverDrive software and check out up to five titles for
fourteen days. Once the load period is up the files expire and
the title is automatically “returned” so there is nothing to lose and
never any late fines.
