Parents, grandparents, everyone – If you’d  consider buying just one new prize… please stop by

Thanks to a generous donation from the Friends of the Library, we’ll once again be able to
purchase paperbacks for a special book give-away for the children this summer.

Join us to browse & you might even want to pick up a few. Your donation will purchase a special prize for the Library’s Summer Reading Program.

The Deep Sky, Part 2

With: John Andrews, N.J. Astronomical Assoc.
Be amazed at the incredibly beautiful photographs of our night sky, taken from
 Earth-based telescopes and the Hubble. We’ll travel to the edge of the universe, visit local stars, travel the Milky Way, and galaxies far beyond. Find out about the perplexing “dark matter” that holds galaxies together. John will bring his telescope for a peek at the night sky after the show.

Meet the Butterfly Guy!

With: Rick Mikula, Hole-In-Hand Butterfly Farm
Rick will delight us with his presentation of live butterflies and his humorous and offbeat way of looking at these jewels of the sky. Author, photographer, and habitat consultant, Rick has appeared on the Animal Planet Network and Discovery Channel.

Yoga – What’s It All About?

Have you ever wondered what Yoga is about? With its increasing popularity, a lot of people are curious. Does it really work? Can anyone do it? The program will include a brief history of Yoga, an introduction to the philosophy behind this practice, and descriptions of some of the different types.

Hudson River Lighthouses & History
With: Kevin Woyce, Author

Kevin Woyce will explain why there were once 14 lighthouses on the Hudson River,
tell how 7 were saved as historic landmarks, and describe the lives of the men and women who lived and worked in them. See original photographs of Hudson River lighthouses, bridge, and landmarks, plus vintage maps and images of “lost” lighthouses and historic figures.

Feng Shui

Feng Shui is the art of placement and color in your home, office, or yard for optimal good health, wealth, and happiness. It is a 6,000 year old Chinese tradition that brings positive chi (energy) into your environment and provides many opportunities to improve your life or business. Vikki is a Certified  Advanced Feng Shui Practitioner and member of the International Feng Shui Guild.

Oman, Land of the Sultans

With: Prof. Alan Levin
Prof. Levin’s latest magic carpet ride is to Oman, on the Arabian Peninsula, a land of spectacular scenery. We’ll visit the Grand Mosque, the Sultan’s Palace, and explore the Wahiba Sands with the Bedouins. Nestled in the midst of turbulence, Oman is a very safe and peaceful Sultanate. Searching the Internet - World Wide Web
Using the Online Library Catalog

Each topic will be a separate 1 hour class.
Sign up for each class separately.

COMPUTERS FOR PATRON USE

Internet and Microsoft Office

The Library has 8 Internet computers with Microsoft Office products Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Publisher.  The combined availability of Internet and Microsoft Office allows you to work easily.  Please sign-up at the Reference Desk for Internet computer use. There is a 30 minute limit, unless no one is waiting. 

Library Catalog

There are 2 computer stations available without reservation for fast and easy Catalog Look-Up.

Suburban Trends Archive

The Suburban Trends is available on a dedicated computer donated by the Friends of the Library.

 

 

 

AUTOMATED HOLDS NOTIFICATION

Stop by at the library to sign up for Automated Holds Notification. You will be contacted when the items you ordered are at the library for you to pick up. The system will contact you by email or a robot s phone call.
